[ES] Hay diferentes tipos de errores que la gente puede cometer. Uno de ellos, como creo que ya hemos mencionado, esta relacionado con las colocaciones. Recuerda que las colocaciones son combinaciones de palabras utilizadas dentro de un idioma y hoy vemos uno de ellos.
Caso: Tremble with + noun
- Error.
The man was trembling from cold.Esto es incorrecto ya que sabemos que hay una combinación adecuada que debemos seguir. Hay que ver que en esta colocación combinamos un sustantivo con un sintagma verbal construida con un verbo principal + una preposición, así que el término erróneo aquí es la preposición «from» ya que es inapropiada para el sintagma.
- Corrección. The man was trembling with cold. Esto es acertado dado a la combinación de palabras. La preposición correcta dentro de este sintagma es «with«. De esta manera el verbo «tremble» selecciona la preposición «with» y combina dicho sintagma con el sustantivo «cold«.
Otros sintagmas verbales parecidos pueden ser shake with o shiver with.

Case: Tremble with + noun
- Error.
The man was trembling from cold. This is incorrect for we know there is a correct combination to follow. Notice that in this collocation we combine a noun with a verb phrase made of a main verb + preposition, so the mistaken term here is preposition ‘from‘ since it’s inaccurate for the verb phrase.
- Correction. The man was trembling with cold. This is accurate due to the right combination of words. The right preposition to use within this verb phrase is with. So phrasal verb «tremble» selects with and combines it with noun «cold» making the collocation right.
(*) Other verb phrases similar to tremble can be shake with or shiver with.
